Documentedthirdweb
Platform plus in-app wallets.
Crossmint
Smart wallets, with onramps and checkout as neighboring products.
An in-app wallet on a developer platform, next to a smart wallet aimed at consumer and fintech apps. Funding with a card is a different flow.
01Connect Button or Connect Embed
thirdweb lab entry. The host control opens the vendor’s default UI.
02Auth method list
thirdweb default UI on the email method. No code has been sent.
03Verification
thirdweb one-time code screen. The code was not submitted.

04In-app wallet
Docs say the wallet is created from the verified identity and does not ask the user to confirm a transaction just to exist.
thirdweb sends a real email code. There is no documented sandbox OTP, so this run stops at the code screen and does not read an inbox. This client allows localhost:3000. Add www.kycflows.com and kycflows.com to its allowed domains.

05Optional funding or gasless prompt
Buy, bridge, and account-abstraction prompts are separate widgets. They are not part of the login unless the app adds them.

01Auth entry
Either Crossmint’s auth UI or a headless form the app designed. We will capture the stock UI first.
NEXT_PUBLIC_CROSSMINT_CLIENT_KEY is not set. The staging project is named KYC Flows. Add that public client key locally and on Vercel, then run npm run capture again.

02Method
Email, SMS, social, or an external wallet, depending on configuration. Passkey may be the signer rather than the first screen.
No screenshot
03Session
A code, a magic link, or an OAuth return. Session cookies are documented for server-rendered apps.

04Smart wallet
Docs say a wallet can be created when the user authenticates, or pregenerated before they arrive. We have not seen the user-facing difference.

05Funding, out of scope
Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay sit on the onramp, not in the login. This frame stays pending, and a later capture will be labeled as onramp, not as KYC and not as login.
thirdweb’s in-app wallet sits inside a toolkit for contracts, RPC, and account abstraction. Crossmint’s embedded wallet is a smart-contract wallet addressed by email, phone, or user id, with gas sponsorship invoiced in fiat and a card onramp nearby. Both will create a wallet for someone who does not have one. They are not aimed at the same next screen.
Crossmint also sells checkout and custodial treasury wallets. Those are out of scope here. So is any identity check a card payment triggers. Didit is the only KYC profile on this site. A fair capture of Crossmint is the auth UI through to a smart-wallet address, with the onramp labeled as a separate product if we record it later.
Both publish a free allowance of 1,000 active wallets a month. thirdweb then charges from $0.015 per MAU and also sells platform plans from $99. Crossmint’s headline overage starts at $0.025, with a custom table that mentions about $0.02. thirdweb talks about enclaves. Crossmint talks about onchain signers and recovery. We have not watched either one.
Pending rows are the ones a capture will fill. They match on purpose.

Crossmint’s onramp fees are not in the wallet number. thirdweb’s SMS fees are not in the MAU number. Leave them out of a login comparison until a capture includes them on purpose.
