DocumentedDynamic
The login, the user record, and the wallet.
thirdweb
The onchain stack. The wallet is one module.
A login-and-wallet product next to a wallet that comes with the rest of an onchain stack. External wallets are a Dynamic specialty. Guest mode is a thirdweb claim we have not filmed.
01Connect entry
Dynamic lab entry. The host control opens the vendor’s default UI.
02Method picker
Dynamic default UI on the email method. No code has been sent.
03Credential check
Dynamic one-time code screen. The code was not submitted.

04Information capture
If the app requires an email, alias, or username, Dynamic says the user is prompted before the session is complete. Many apps skip this.
Dynamic sandbox logins use an email with +dynamic_test before the @. The code screen is captured. The static code was not printed in the widget, and DYNAMIC_TEST_OTP was unset, so the steps after the code stay pending. No real inbox was read.

05Embedded wallet creation
Docs are explicit that wallet creation follows authentication. A passkey prompt may appear here when passkeys protect the key.

06MFA or access gate
MFA and allowlists can stop the session after the first credential. This screen is conditional.
01Connect Button or Connect Embed
thirdweb lab entry. The host control opens the vendor’s default UI.
02Auth method list
thirdweb default UI on the email method. No code has been sent.
03Verification
thirdweb one-time code screen. The code was not submitted.

04In-app wallet
Docs say the wallet is created from the verified identity and does not ask the user to confirm a transaction just to exist.
thirdweb sends a real email code. There is no documented sandbox OTP, so this run stops at the code screen and does not read an inbox. This client allows localhost:3000. Add www.kycflows.com and kycflows.com to its allowed domains.

05Optional funding or gasless prompt
Buy, bridge, and account-abstraction prompts are separate widgets. They are not part of the login unless the app adds them.
Dynamic is authentication, user management, and embedded wallets, with an external-wallet catalog that is part of the product rather than a side door. thirdweb’s Connect UI also attaches external wallets, and its in-app wallet covers email, phone, passkey, and social. The surrounding thirdweb account is built to deploy contracts and sponsor gas.
Dynamic’s docs are specific about sequence: the JSON Web Token comes first, information capture can interrupt, and the embedded wallet is created after. thirdweb’s docs describe the wallet as a result of the auth strategy, and they advertise a guest path that does not require a sign-in. Guest mode would change every metric on this page. It is not captured, so it is not counted.
Price is a platform question as much as a wallet question. Dynamic’s self-serve number, where the pages agree, is $249 a month around a 5,000-user allowance. thirdweb’s platform starts at $99, with wallet MAUs free for the first 1,000 and then $0.015. Dynamic’s overage is the number we will not pretend to know, because two public pages disagree.
Pending rows are the ones a capture will fill. They match on purpose.

If external-wallet connections are most of your users, ask each vendor whether those connections count as a monthly active user or wallet. The public definitions above are necessary and not sufficient.
